Stepping off the plane in Dublin and then driving straight to Lough Derg; my first day and then week in Ireland was more than I could have possibly asked for. John has perfectly cultured a warm and welcoming environment at his beautiful B&B. This kind of stay where you immediately feel at home and part of a family, is something that appears to be almost completely forgotten in this day and age. Considering the Irish weather, the rooms are certainly warm and cozy, and John is there to assist you with anything you might need: directions and itinerary suggestions - hes got you. A full Irish breakfast - he’s got you. Knowledge about the local area - you’ve guessed it, he’s got you.
The location is beautiful, situated right at the waters edge and neighbouring the old Dromineer castle. There is a sauna and coffee cart just 2 mins down the road, the Whiskey Inn pub which is even closer, and the town of Nenagh is only about 10-15 mins drive away.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. Such a warm welcome from John, the room was comfortable and clean. Great shower.

Honestly cannot recommend this guest house enough. Recently changed ownership (we were their first weelend of guests and they had a houseful for a wedding nearby) and the owner Johm was amazing. So helpful, kind and full of chat....a proper irish welcome!
As for breakfast, Maria cooked up a storm and laid out a fabulous continental buffet. Again she couldn't do enough for the guests, so lovely and friendly as well as being a kitchen wizz!!
The location is great and we will have to go back in warmer weather to take advantage of all the outdoor activities.
