Dive into one of Ireland’s top inland sites

Just a short drive from Lough Derg House, Portroe Dive Centre is a former slate quarry turned into one of Ireland’s best inland diving locations. With clear waters and year-round accessibility, it’s a favourite for both experienced divers and those looking for a unique adventure. Whether you’re diving for training or just for fun, it’s a hidden gem worth exploring.

Go fishing with a local expert

Irish Fishing Tours, run by local guide Paul Bourke, offers an authentic angling experience on Lough Derg. With a special interest in pike fishing, Paul combines traditional and modern techniques, from trolling and dead baiting to fly-fishing and jerk-baiting, to help you land the perfect catch. It’s a great way to enjoy the water and learn from someone who truly knows it.

During the summer months Aquasplash in Dromineer is a great option for the kids & adults!

In addition to the inflatable water park (pictured), Aquasplash offer SUP paddle boarding, kayaking, banana boats/inflatables and water skiing.

Watermark Wakeboard & Water Ski Club

Whether it’s your first time or your fifth, this local watersports centre specialises in making wakeboarding, waterskiing, and wakesurfing easy and fun for everyone, from hen and stag parties to corporate groups. All gear is provided, so just bring your togs, towel, and a good attitude!
